Message You can get inline driers for a compressor. It helpful for a couple reason. It takes moisture out of the air being supplied to tools to increase their longevity. Also, if you are considering painting I believe it is a must have to prevent contamination of your paint due to moisture. Lastly, if you have steel hard lines supplying air stations it will protect them from rusting and failure.

We use a catch system on our compressor at home. It is basically a filter that plugs inline at the compressor outlet housing. The air cycles through it and then exits to a typical air chuck fitting. I am not sure exactly how it works, but it collects the water at the bottom of a cylinder with a valve that you open to drain water out of the filter.

I think it is relatively inexpensive and a good investment to product expensive power tools.
